THE FILMMAKERS

We're Kyle and Josh, and we make documentaries. We love getting to know people and telling their story honestly. It's what got us into filmmaking in the first place.

For years, that's meant documentaries and brand films, finding the story in every project.

Between us, there's one wedding and another on the horizon. Living our own love stories, we realised the best stories we'll ever tell are love stories, and no two are alike. Our own have taught us that love is rarely a straight line.

So we built Solara around the craft we know. We get to know you before the wedding: your history, your people, and the places that hold your story.

By the time the day arrives, we're not strangers with cameras but witnesses who understand what's unfolding.

What comes out of it is less a highlight reel and more a portrait, something to return to on anniversaries, share with family, and one day hand down.

Each film takes a number of months to create, so we only take on a small number each year, because each one asks this much of us, and deserves this much of us.

THE APPROACH

Every film follows the same path, from our first conversation to the night you watch it together.

First Light

You tell us a little about yourselves, and we talk. Unhurried, so we can both see whether we're right for your story.

The Commission

Your agreement and first payment secure your date. From here, your film has begun.

Into Your World

Story conversations, time with each of you on your own, and a creative shoot. We get to know the people and places that made you.

The Witnessing

On the days that matter, we observe rather than direct. You live it fully, and we keep it.

The Authoring

We shape your story in the edit, with the patience of a documentary. It's ready within 90 days of your wedding.

The Screening

Your film arrives as a private screening, made to be watched together, and one day handed down.
